When it comes to softcore, no one can compete with Playboy. The images at Playboy’s Sexy Wives are what one would expect from the brand: flawlessly posed and lit, erotic and classy, each looks worthy of a centerfold.

This member of the Playboy roster focuses on 20-something to 30-something wives and mothers. The models exemplify a playful maturity, a youthful beauty intensified by life experience. These ladies are truly in the prime of their lives.

Unfortunately, even the beauty of the models and the high quality of visual content can’t distract from the PlayboysSexyWives almost complete lack of navigation. All the ladies are dumped onto the home page in small clickable preview frames: there is no search function, no browsing-friendly list of names. The layout team didn’t even bother alphabetizing the preview frames on the home page. Even with the current limited roster (I counted 54 models), looking up a specific model can be tricky; as the site expands, it will become impossible.

Individual model page layout is much better. An enticing large photo (usually nude) greets us on each individual page. In true Playboy fashion, each page offers the model’s physical traits, measurements, likes and dislikes, and a short bio. Below, we are treated to the model’s content: a short interview video, usually shot in semi-nude; one or more erotic video available in high and low definition, and two or more photo galleries with up to 20 photos in each. Some of the videos are downloadable, and some individual pages offer large versions of the photos for download as zip files. If the model is featured on other Playboy sites, a link to those sites is also included. In terms of media quality, members have HD quality Windows Media downloads as well as lesser quality MPEG and QuickTime Options. All photos are high-res.

The model pages also offer two interactive features. The Rate Her feature allows members to rate each model on the scale of 1 to 10, and the VIP room of the Playboy message board offers members a chance to discuss each model with other members.

All photos and videos at Playboys Sexy Wives are solo shots (with the exception of one gallery dedicated to twins); you will find no hardcore action here. As is to be expected from Playboy, some nude photos look almost chaste: they are closer in spirit to classical nude paintings than to modern-day porn.
