Retro Raw is a large, nonexclusive DVD porn site that only features the classic and vintage titles of porn. These are the movies everyone knows and the porn stars everyone loves. John Holmes, Ginger Lynn and Vanessa del Rio are just three of the familiar names you’ll be treated to in this large and growing collection of vintage porn DVDs and scenes.
At the time of this review there are currently 88 movies at Retro Raw. I’ll admit to being a bit disappointed with that number - - there are thousands of titles released in the 70s and 80s to choose from, and to offer just 88 of them seems a little on the small side. After browsing through the gallery of covers for the movies I also noticed a few big titles are missing, primary among them being the classic Deepthroat. A huge number seem to star John Holmes, so fans of his will find a lot to enjoy here.
You can download any episode as a series of short clips, but there are no full-length downloads. You can grab them in either low or high quality Windows Media format, the better of the two offering a great quality playback. Some of the movies are a bit grainy or blurry but this is a result of the original media (VHS) rather than the formats offered for download. Also missing are streaming video options.
Given that this site is dedicated to classic movies it’s not too much of a surprise to find there are zero photo galleries to enjoy here. Instead you’ll have to make the large nonexclusive collection of movies worth its while. The site does have a decent design to help you along the way in this respect. When you log in there are a few links at the top: Home, Covers and Sitemap. The Covers link lets you browse by DVD cover. Clicking any of them will then give you a page with all the scenes available from that title. The other way to go is just paging through thumbnails for all of the scenes currently online. There are no model indexes or search engines, unfortunately.
Retro Raw does not offer any real bonuses or extras. Access to a site called Seventeen Live is included, but this is a webcam site that you’ll have to pay to make use of. It’s a bit disappointing in some ways, but Retro Raw still has a reasonable amount of content and good quality downloads to offer. Before you sign up here, though, you’ll want to check out the other vintage porn sites we’ve reviewed and see if maybe one of them will better suit your needs.
